Each year the team or individual walker who raises the most money collectively walks away with bragging rights, and the Walk a Mile Trophy – who will it be this year?
Optimism Place is proud to kick off year 11 for one of the city’s most entertaining events, WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES®. Men are motivated each year to step up and register to participate, start fundraising or donate to address a serious issue that impacts too many families in our community – domestic abuse.
How about a county wide challenge? Talk to men in your community, encourage them to challenge other men and teams to recruit the most walkers and raise the most money. Have fun make the challenge worth while. Set the goal high. Remember the cause. Optimism Place will support you wherever we can.
On April 27th trade your regular footwear for a pair of red high heels and walk through Festival Marketplace Shopping Centre. This walk is for Men of all ages to bring awareness to these important issues and come together as a community to say enough is enough. Only together can we help women and their children walk away from family violence and abuse.”
