We should never take our women’s shelter for granted. It’s needed as much as ever, despite the fact there’s a perception out there that we’ve won the battle, so to speak, and that abuse is no longer happening. This is not the case. Optimism Place is the only safe haven in the community and it’s providing services that are still very much needed – by both women and children. The shelter depends on public donations and for me it’s an extremely valuable and worthwhile place to put my charitable dollars.”
– JEAN HEWITT, donor, Stratford
The gift of a brighter future ...
All donations made in Perth County stay in Perth County.
At Optimism Place we depend on your generosity to help us maintain the shelter and keep our programs running. The women and children we serve need your help.
Donations help us fill the unique needs of each one of our women and children, to provide transportation, food and clothing, and to fill prescriptions. Visit our wish list for more ways to help.
We gratefully accept cheques, sponsorships, pledges, memorial gifts, and donations bequeathed through wills.
By joining our major fundraiser Walk a Mile in Her Shoes and obtaining pledges, you can make a significant contribution and help women and their children as they take steps to walk away from domestic violence!
When you support Optimism Place, you know you’re giving women and children a chance at a better life and a much brighter future.
