Services are free, tailored to your particular needs, and completely confidential. Both men and women can access our Family Court Support Program Worker. Men who access our services will be referred to Victim Services for assistance. Safe meeting sites are available throughout Perth County.

If you’ve experienced domestic abuse, a family court support worker can help you:
Understand the family court systems
Find a lawyer or access legal advice
Complete court papers and/or prepare evidence statements
Prepare personal safety plans for attending court
Make referrals to community services and programs
Attending court with you
Attending lawyer's appointments with you; and

At Optimism Place, our local advocate is available to help guide you through the criminal court system. Some examples for supports we can provide include:
accessing legal aid
accessing a lawyer
supporting victims of domestic violence; and
navigating peace bonds
We are able to offer our services and supports to women who are victims in legal proceedings, witnesses in criminal cases, and/or have been charged in a criminal proceeding.
